Legal Services: Nationwide Legal Support Through Your EAP

Legal challenges—whether expected or sudden—can be overwhelming, stressful and costly. From personal disputes to criminal matters, navigating the legal system often requires expert guidance. Through your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) benefit, M&S EAP partners with a nationwide network of licensed attorneys so employees and their household members can quickly and confidentially connect with the right legal professional for their needs.

We do not provide legal advice or representation directly. Instead, our role is to connect you with trusted attorneys who specialize in your area of concern, ensuring you receive reliable, timely and relevant guidance.

Free Initial Consultations Through Our Partner Network

As part of your EAP benefit, employees and household members can access free initial consultations with licensed attorneys. These consultations can take place over the phone or virtually, providing a confidential, judgment-free space to discuss your legal questions.

Our partner attorneys can assist with a wide range of personal civil and criminal matters, including:

  • Landlord/tenant disputes
  • Small claims and contracts
  • Family law matters such as divorce, custody and adoption
  • Wills, estate planning and probate
  • Criminal matters, from misdemeanor charges to more serious offenses

Please note: Employment law issues are not covered through this benefit.

Nationwide Access to Qualified Attorneys

No matter where you live, M&S EAP can connect you with an attorney in your state who understands local laws and court processes. This nationwide reach means whether you're in a small rural community or a major city, you can get legal guidance tailored to your location.

When you contact M&S EAP, we match you with a partner attorney based on the nature of your legal concern. This ensures that you're speaking with someone who has the right expertise to address your needs effectively.

Emergency Legal Connections

Some legal matters require urgent action. In the event of an arrest or criminal charge, M&S EAP can immediately connect you to a criminal defense attorney within our partner network. These attorneys can provide guidance on next steps, legal rights and how to navigate the process from the very beginning.

What Happens After the Consultation

Your initial consultation is always free through your EAP benefit. If you choose to continue working with the attorney for further representation, they will explain potential fees and the scope of services, giving you clarity and control over your next steps.

Confidential, Accessible Support When It Matters Most

Legal issues can cause stress and uncertainty, but you don't have to face them alone. Through our network of trusted attorneys, M&S EAP ensures that employees and their families have quick, confidential and cost-free access to legal guidance when it's needed most.
